For long range gongs and deer.

Out of a factory Remington 22" sporter spout.

I can not personally speak of it's performance on deer because I never used them on game.

I can tell you they rock at long range and my powder of choice is IMR 7828....work up to 45-46 gr.

David, I wouldn't argue with Fotis on the IMR 7828 recommendation as it's what I usually use with 100 gr Hornady SP's. but last spring when I worked up a load for for the 105 AMAX a max dose of WMR gave me over 3000fps in my 22" 700 BDL with nice groups. goodluck Mag Man

48.0 of RL 22 just yesterday gave me 3244 as a low & 3255 as a high, 12 rounds!

105 gr. Lapua Scenar, we had a little breeze that didn't seem to matter much. This AI'd version is very nice to work with.

my 105 Hornady's loaf down the barrel and only come out the barrel at 2850 to 2900 depending on rifle and barrel length...

but then I am using lowly old IMR 4064.....

which is ALWAYS accurate......guess I am too old school...

I got exactly what I was looking for. Mid 32's & accuracy. Best of both worlds.

If you're addressing me I shoot at different ranges and dial up. That Nikon does have resetable zero turrets.
The rifle was extremely accurate even at longer ranges. I only took that one antelope at 220 yards. I opted for the this smaller dinky buck so my son can kill this one.

He used a sendero 264 mag with a 4.5x14 Leupy with M1 turrets at 277 yards. 140 VLD's at 3100 fps with RL 25.

My point being if you can find W760 locally why pay 40+ dollars after hazmat and shipping just to try it.
Now if you tried it before and it does work then yes order the 8 pounder.

Speer's are Ping Pong Balls.

Not all bullets are the same, nor even close and that in flight characteristics and terminal affects.

I don't have to guess either. You take the guesswork right out of it, even when I try to give you the benefit of the doubt. There is a HUGE difference between knowing what you know, and knowing what there is to know.

Careful there.. Schtick has been responsible for half the game taken in the state of Alaska over the last 10 years.... the other half of the game taken, were taken by hunters he was supervising...

He was also responsible for half of the fish caught within Alaskan Waters over the last 20 years...the other half caught once again by people under his supervision .

What is even more mind boggling is that he managed to accomplish all of this, by being the official Alaskan State Wildlife Photographer, and spending all of this time on the campfire telling us all what idiots we are, sitting on our couches all the time.. and just pretending.. wishing we were him, and admiring his manly bald head.....

Hell yeah, Schtick is quite a guy... he'd be governor of Alaska if he could spare the time.....

how did any of us ever live without his influence in our lives before we knew of his existence...

we all stand in Awe.. and he does all of this being 3 foot 18 inches tall... AMAZING, AIN'T IT! whistle

The sad part: you are mistaken often. You just think you are right. Anytime you poohpooh on someone's equipment choice, you are mistaken. You are mistaken in thinking anyone wants to be insulted on the internet by a guy with a complex.

Like I said, you know what you know. You seem not to know what else there is to know.

As per always, your best move is to take notes and apply same.

Funnier than I thought.

Ain't it a fascinating constant, that someone as STUPID as you...knows better than to even try.

AMAZING, AIN'T IT! whistle

The God's truth from what I've seen and read. At least the height.

I'm in awe.

Don't know about Stick but availability would be one reason, they also clone an A-Max well since they are basically twins. One just has a tidt....

Hornady is back to making them again - been seeing them on the shelves here quite a bit - the A-Max

I have enough on hand for my son's rifle, I'm thinking of getting a .243 for myself.

Bout time.

The lapse in the .224 75 has made about every slick/puff bullet in that range go on bi-annual backorder.

I like the A-Max for the puff factor on thin fur and feathered critters. Never shot the 75 HPBT at such, but I'd imagine they don't initiate as much goo as the A-Max.

Saw pics of one ram some "other" place. I'm not a sheep hunter but damn - BIG is BIG and you don't have to be an expert to know when you see it.

HELL of a ram.
