mistem - really nice paint job. Did you use both black and white web paint for it? Krylon? Certainly changes the look from the basic green stock. BTW - wish more firms would make green stocks instead of black. Homesteader

Looks like silver webbing to me. I agree it does greatly change it for the better over the factory look.

mistem,
Nice job on the paint!
A couple months ago, down at the FTW Ranch in Texas, a companion was shooting one of those with 140-grain A-Max Hornady ammo. It shot very well, in fact just as well as the Ruger Target rifle I was shooting with the same ammo. Or at least we couldn't tell any difference, even out at 1000 yards.

mistem, very nice job on the stock. tell me more, i have one in 308, and would like to do something like you did to yours. they are great shooters, but its almost hurts your eyes to open the safe and have that ugly green jump out at you. Thanks, Paul

bastids. The American Predator's are hard to come by in 6.5 Creedmoor...nobody has them in stock, but when they do I'll load up. We still have a couple of the standard Hawkeye Stainless models in stock. I think they're on the shelf for $629....

Like a dumbass, I had a Ruger Hawkeye predator chambered for the Creedmoor earlier in the year and got talked into selling it for a ridiculous price.
Just thought that the American Predator would give me a chance to work with the cartridge for a few less chips...
I'll be patient. Eventually, my dealer will snag one.

I notice that Bud's has a hard time keeping em in stock, in any chambering. for whatever reason, they appear to be "the" popular model. course, im not one to talk, ive got two of em ...

I have this rifle but have yet to shoot it. Im still waiting for boyds to stop being lazy and make the pro varmint available for purchase. If not ill probably just end up with the prairie hunter since that has the tallest cheek rest. Also, barrel diameter that i measured was .730 but maybe im off. Can you post your velocity for the factory rounds you did record?
How are you liking the stock? I have a bipod attached to mine amd plan to preload it as the stock seems rather flimsy at the muzzle but not as bad as others.

I am currently wiping the grease off of one of those CDNN All Weather 6.5 CRs. It looks and feels pretty good, and am anxious to get out to the range Saturday. After six months of waiting on a Predator in 6.5 CR, I ordered this one.

Fondled one of those down at Sportman's Whorehouse this afternoon..
also got to fondle the American Ranch rifle in 223....
both are worth the $399 they are asking for them...
although the longer barrel on the Creedmoor felt a little funny and less balanced than my 223 in the Ruger American Predator...

OK, I have a Hawkeye a Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor and I absolutely love it. I ordered it brand new through my local firearms dealer. Took me all of 3 shoots to sight it in. Have not shot it 10 times total, but it is a for real one-holer.
But my 308's are my first and last love, and what I have all of my reloading supplies for. I see several on this thread who have had trouble finding one, so I'll offer mine up for sale, if mistem will forgive my telling you about it. Mine is in new condition in the box with all the stuff that came from Ruger. I'd sell it for $795.00 shipped and insured to any lower 48 states FFL who accepts long guns from private individuals. I also have a ship pot full of Hornady factory ammo I won't need if someone wants this rifle. I have boxes of 120 and 140 gr AMAX. ammo as well as a bunch of 129 gr SST ammo.
Holla,
Mark

I happened to find an American predator creedmoor at sportsmans today. It followed me home. I'll throw a SS scope on it tonight and wait for some better weather.

I have an extra super sniper 3-9 mil quad still in the box and a mil/mil fixed 10. I'm just debating which one to put in it. I really like the 3-9 SS, it's becoming one of my favorite all around variables. If they have another Black Friday sale this year I plan on picking up two more fixed 6's, another 10, and one or two more 3-9's. I think a fixed 6 would be great on this little creedmoor but I don't have one laying around at the moment. Probably going to run the 3-9 for now.
Just measured the mag box at about 2.85". My other creedmoor is on a tac30 aw action and aw mags have let me run long so my 140 vld loads are at 2.89". I'll have to bump them back to run in this one. I'll probably try a totally different bullet for the American. My heavy creedmoor loves the 140 VLD hunting and has grouped those sub .2" on several occasions and flattened the one 4x4 mulie I shot with them so it's tempting to try those bumped back. However I have about 600 of the 129 ablr's on hand and will likely play with those too. They fly pretty good at 2900 from my little carbon wrapped 260.

Now I just have to get dies and brass!
