About a year ago I purchased a Crossbreed SuperTuck holster for my Glock 19. I went with the horsehide leather since it gets a tad warm around here. Tried using it a few times and liked it except that the dang thing made a very noticeable creaking noise every time I moved. Thought it would go away after a while but it didn't. Stuck it in the box that holds all the other holsters I had to have but rarely use.
Anyway, the other day I decided to do a google search on crossbreeds horsehide and creaking. Came across a discussion on another forum where the founder and CEO of Crossbreed responded to the OP and recommended that neatsfoot oil be liberally applied to to the front of the horsehide to correct the problem. I did just that and the creaking noise is gone!
Gotta love the internet.

Thanks. I have the same issue with the same holster. Mine is WELL broken in. I have a cowhide holster for my Khar P9 and the horsehide seems more comfortable, though it may just be the holster shapes. My Glock Supertuck has lost about a third of the leather it started with. I'd wear it on a long drive and whittle some more when i got home. I'm running one of their J-clips forward and the metal clip on the rear.

amazon.com has a few to select from. Think it's mink oil under a brand name? Research it more though.

Mine does the same thing.. where do you find this oil? It's pretty common, probably Wal-Mart, shoe shops, hobby shops, etc. Not quite the same as mink oil, but that might work too.

Mine does the same thing.. where do you find this oil? I got it at a country general store that carries a lot of stuff for folks that have horses. It was with the leather care stuff. By the way, I don't think that neatsfoot oil is the same thing as mink oil.

Here is the post that I found on xdtalk.com -
Kiwi Leather lotion if its cowhide. Neetsfoot oil if its horsehide. Apply liberally to the front side only.
Sometimes a felt tab on the back of the belt clips where the contact the leather back can work wonders too

Yep. You also want to pull the clips up a bit and make sure you get the oil on the horsehide where it contacts the clip.

I just got a Crossbreed SuperTuck for my Ruger P345. It works great and conceals the full size gun under a T-shirt very nicely. It did start to squeak after a day or two so I'm going to give it the neetsfoot treatment.

I tried the Kiwi Leather Lotion and put felt between the clips and the "leather" and that really didn't work. Fortunately, I don't hang out in museums, libraries or art galleries.

I soaked my horsehide with neatsfoot oil. It took quite a bit but so far so good, no noise from it now.
