Could one of you gentlemen who have access to quick load do a work up on the 338 ruger compact magnum using a 185 grain TTSX and 60.5 grains of CFE223 powder. Load shoots good and no signs of pressure but I want to make sure I am in the ballpark pressure wise. Average velocity is 2732 fps out of a 20 inch barrel. Thanks CT
There is a reason why you never hear of anyone shooting a 308 winchester AI.... It can't be improved upon!! Molon Labe
Not knowing that specific powder's characteristics I certainly can't guess on pressure, but that seems to be a very safe velocity for that cartridge. That is a 338 Fed velocity with ~48.5 grains of powder. Which kills very nicely by the way.
