I know they're different in height but can I use my BDL mag box in an ADL with success ?

It will fall down unless shimmed. The ADL has a screw tab in the rear and lips in the front. I'd just buy an ADL box, they are cheap.

Spring ears on all corners, make it up tight and it won't ever move.

That part is easy, just make sure the box isn't bound on assembly or it won't shoot for schit.................(hint)

So stick, is this the same on the model 7. I'm dropping one into a MCM model 7 pattern and going from bdl to adl.

Open them up,to fit tighter in receiver recess...against rails,as a means of retention.

TIGHT.

Hint...............
