Anyone know of new rifles coming out or being built by reputable smithy that handles 7.62 X 39 Ammo in Bolt with Bull Barrel or other threadable tube.? Wanting something that doesn't tear up a white tail but will readily do the job. I live in Brush Country and want a good multi-purpose gun but haven't seen one in the lower-power stuff I'm wanting. The ammo is also a factor.

I take it you don't reload?

And you want to install a brake?? Or a suppressor?? Do you have something physical that won't allow you to take recoil??

The CZ527 carbine like mentioned above is a super rifle!

Neither have a heavy barrel though.

My choice would be the Remington 700 in .308. It has a factory threaded 18" heavy barrel. If you handload, you can make reduced loads, or you can buy Factory Reduced Power loads.

The .308 is NOT going to "tear up" deer and is a great all around hunting Cartridge, capable of taking any deer sized animal in N. America.

If your wanting to shoot "suppressed" hunting loads, and your hunting in brush where your shots are limited to 100 yards or less, the same Remington Model 700 in .300 Blackout / Whisper Cartridge is a great close range hunting model.
Ballisticly speaking, it's just below a 7.62 x 39 or a 30-30 cartridge. It is more of a "specialty" hunting round, though, and ammo is not always readily available, if you live in a small town where your only place to purchase ammo is the local Wallmart. If your buying a rifle specifically for the above mentioned purpose, the .300 Blackout round might just fit your needs.

However, if your buying a rifle that will be your one & only Deer Hunting rifle, I would highly reccomend the more versitle .308 Cartridge.

I DO like the .308, but have access to tons of ammo for the "short" version. Recoil is sort of an issue though, but long story. Thanks for the input.

Used to reload, but had a bad experience once and really don't TRUST ME since then... This CZ sounds interesting though.. Seems that several guys had it in mind for what I was asking, and it looks good what I have seen so far.

The second part was for suppressor when wanted.... brake ...not so much.

I already have an SPS .308... but have a boatload of AK stuff... Retired and wanting to do lots of River hunts (close range)... I don't reload after having bad experience once. The .308 is super round for average distance out to 1/4 but just wanting less recoil without reloading. The threaded is for suppression. Can't use in Kansas for hunting, but want it to keep in my locker, just to have.
30-30 is also good gun and have a 94 but just wanting this for my collection and to use sometimes. Not real familiar with Blackout.. want to stick with AK rounds.... have tons of 'em.

An AR in 7.62x39 would usually have a threaded barrel.

If Rock River ever wakes up and builds the LAR-47, that takes AK mags, that would be pretty slick. But they announced it 2 years ago, and have yet to actually make any of them, AFAIK.

I have both the Rem 799 and Cz 527 carbine in 7.62x39. I usually keep one in Ky. and the other in Tx.

The 799 was made by Zastava for Rem. I has also been sold as a Charles Daly.

Both are very handy deer/hog etc. rifles. I think my longest deer kill was 143yds., by the range finder.

The Wolfe 123 gr. soft points work well in both.
