I can't figure out why he didn't go play in Canada - Flutie, Moon and Warner did and it worked out for them

I won't google it but I'm pretty sure Warner didn't play in the CFL. He played in the arena league with the Iowa Barnstormers?

Both Flutie and Moon were stars in the CFL.

Tim Tebow is destined for something great on this earth. Don't know what yet. Personally I thought Canada would have been a good place to go for him. We'll see.

Yep, he is a man's man and one to be a real hero and role model. Something there are far too few of.

I loved the eternal words of truth he taught her to live by in that short encounter, and I will remember him by these now:

"Loving Jesus and Loving People, that's all that matters"

AMEN and Amen.

FWIW, I too think he would tear it UP in the CFL, and maybe make a comeback to the NFL someday like Warren Moon.

He's already done great things with his testimony.

And, with his size, work ethic, and character (which the NFL puts a premium on) I can't figure out why he isn't playing somewhere as a FB, RB, LB, or TE unless it was QB or nothing in his mind.

Yes, that's true of Warner. He wasn't even the starter at Northern Iowa his senior year. Worked in a grocery store after graduating before deciding on giving arena football a shot. The rest, as they say, is history.

I wish I could remember! Actually, I wish I could remember that, and many other things. The poison and numerous "medicines" (some cases they are one in the same) in my bloodstream are making recall pretty tough on me. One of the reasons I had to retire and cannot serve on that jury I was called to. Sorry friend, you will need to google it.

Having watched him play many times, I don't think he is a "lousy quarterback" - at all. He was a big winner as a QB before the NFL. What percentage of us have done what he has done as a QB? The fact that he has not fit in or is not in demand in the NFL is not an overall determinant of his ability or value.

Paul - It was just an attention getting headline. I don't think he has the accuracy for the NFL. But he is such an impressive young man.

I've been playing and watching football for 55 years and one thing I've learned about quarterbacks is that leadership is as important, maybe more important, than talent. When he played for the Broncos this kid was able to inspire a team of veterans to achieve greatness. Even when the Broncos didn't win, we still loved the team and the kid with God in his heart. I agree that he is destined for more greatness in some walk of life.

Players have been thanking Jesus for decades. It ain't anything new.

Tebow just couldn't perform in the NFL. If he could, he'd be playing.

He still may get picked up.

He tried playing for three different teams. They all knew something the fans didn't.

That being said, not sure if he is worse than Sam Bradford, and with Bradford out...

Moon probably threw the football better than anyone. Absolutely perfect spiral, huge arm and incredible accuracy. I feel fortunate to have seen him play. Just an awesome QB.

Eric - I understand - all good. I am far from expert on NFL arms/accuracy, so can't/don't disagree. I completely agree that he is impressive in many ways even though an NFL team has not seen him as vaulable in their scheme.

Even though I enjoy watching some NFL teams, such football is primarily entertainment and the values and worth of the NFL are merely a speck in the universe of importance.

Maybe. It won't be in football. There he's destined for obscurity, just a minor "could have been" footnote. Maybe he'll have a place in politics or something like that. He seems like a good dude squandering more good opportunities than most of us ever see. Tragedy of sorts and more than a little foolishness on his part. frown

Terry Bradshaw didn't have that initial accuracy, either. I see some similarities between Tebow and Bradshaw. I remember well everyone saying Bradshaw would never make it as a QB.

I think that is likely a large part of his troubles as a NFL quarterback.

I must be in the same group - as I've certainly never been accused of being "too bright". But, am thinking I'm bright enough to not make assumptions about a guy's smarts - particulalry his football smarts - if I don't know him and have never been under his leadership. Whatever his brightness level, evidence is that he is in a different "company" that J. Manziel.

I was not a fan of him as a QB and I am a serious Broncos Fan. I do remember after winning a game at the last second for the Broncos how he went up into the stands and sat with a disabled boy and talked with him, still in uniform, for about 45 minutes. The press came up to him and wanted an interview, he told them it would have to wait, that what he was doing right now was much more important than talking about football. You have to like the Man.

Yes, I have heard him speak but I don't remember that impression and I think you are giving him Very little credit.

But, assuming you are correct, he's still shown the kind of character I'd like my son or daughter to emulate. Period. grin

True, he may be a lousy NFL QB. That said, he's accomplished far more than many "can't miss prospects", and a helluva lot more than any armchair pundit.

I'd take his "lousy" level of success in any professional endeavor and be damned proud of it.

Drafting quarterbacks is like a box of chocolates...you never know what you're gonna get.

Tebow ain't an NFL caliber qb, but he could play fullback at that level IMO. I dont believe he's got the skillset to be a tight end.

He could outplay at least 5 NFL starting QBs today, if they would give him the opportunity to simply get on the field during game time:

Buffalo--Manuel
Oakland--Schaub
St. Louis--Hill
Cleveland--Hoyer
Tennessee--Locker

He would have outplayed a number last year as well. Playing QB is about getting a team to win a game, and at that, he was/is very good. Who cares how he does it, so long as the Win gets done within the bounds of the rules and good sportsmanship. The NFL is simply scared of him being successful.

No, actually it's exactly correct. He'd be better than what a number of teams trotted out last year and this, and of course, has already proven that in the NFL itself.

They are scared of a Christian completing a pass and giving thanks on air. As I said, if he were gay msm would be on his greatness every day. I figure he's as blacklisted as pro NRA and 2nd A actors.

This chit cracks me up. If Jaysus himself came down and could read d's and have good passing mechanics, he would be pulling in millions a year as a pro QB.

Tebow, while being a nice kid, sucks at both, so he's not an NFL QB.

Blaming it on him being Christian makes as much sense as blacks yelling racism at every perceived injustice.

I'm not worried about Tebow. I'm guessing he'll have a better looking wife, better behaved kids, more money, and a happier life than 98% of the internet experts out there.

And BTW, considering most NFL players are retarded and broke after leaving a "career" in the NFL, Tebow clearly is the winner in all of this.

You got that right.

It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

Ya can't argue with a Heisman and a couple NC's. The kid is a winner and by all measures a hell of a guy.

He is not a NFL quarterback. To think its some conspiracy against christians is plain stupid.

Tebow, while being a nice kid, sucks at both, so he's not an NFL QB.

Blaming it on him being Christian makes as much sense as blacks yelling racism at every perceived injustice.
