I've been watching it come down for a year. I can't seem to find it below 34 cents a round delivered,

If the price goes down, the shipping goes up. Lowest shipping seems to be around $16/case of 1000 .223

Anybody seeing different?

I always check ammoman as a point of reference; free shipping.

Looks like 55 grain XM193 is 37 to 38.5 cents delivered.

Good prices on loaded stuff is hard to come. Reloading Nosler seconds is about the best deal going at the moment.

OK, just found some federal 193 @ 30 cents a round, + $26 shipping, (Palmetto State Armory)

so 32.6 cents to the door. If I worked for free, and had the cases already, .223 would cost 22 cents a round. (to reload)

I know some people HATE federal 223 brass, but I try not to buy Russian or Chinese.

Federal Brass is better than Russian or Chinese brass any day of the week. I've shot tons of the Federal XM-193 and XM855F1 with no problem of any kind.

Sycamore...

Thanks for this thread! I did not know PSA had it so cheap. Do they tack on the 26 dollars for every case?

Lets be a bit specific, unless things have changed... LC made by FC is fine.

FC was always just pure trash in 223... unless you backed off 2 grains minimum and were ok with slow, and just a loading or two out of it...

All the XM193 I have ever bought was LC

The fellow in this thread got the bad stuff. Arg.

So the questions is; is the PSA stuff LC?

Anybody know???

Federal brass is fine for the initial firing, it's only junk when you try to load it.

Of course most XM193 was loaded in LC brass even though it says Federal on the box.

Its not all even fine for the initial.. I"ve seen a LOT of GMM stuff toast primers out on the initial firing. ANd I mean WAY out... like you could think about using a LR primer next time...

PSA< as far as I've ever known, is not LC. LC is marked LC.

All of the Federal xm193 I shot was LC brass marked as such.
Even the last 4 or 5 cases of American Eagle 50 gr Hollow point I shot was in LC brass.

But the first few cases of AE were Federal cases that I never had an issue with but didn't look at most of it cause I left it lay after losing primers in the few I tried to reload.

what I have seen for a long time is stores seems to act like they are costco, YOU PAY MORE PER ROUND WITH THE MORE BULK YOU BUY. one of the best deals I have found is herters ammo at cabelas, its the same as wolf. its 5 something a box, then use a 10% off or some other coupon. last stuff I bought I was in the upper $4 range per box of 20. I like wolf because it shoots decent in my guns.

PSA website:

Federal XM193BK 5.56 1000rd Case

Availability: TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK

Oh well... that went fast. And they raised the price to 330 per 1000 before it ran out.

Yup, their *lost leaders* go fast, so you have to be ready to jump quick. Works better now that I am on their email list for their specials.

stopped in the Gander Mountain in Ocala yesterday. They had maybe 10 different brands and flavors of 5.56X45, at very good prices. Just a quick glance showed over 100,000 rounds in stock, and on display.
Not a single damn round of .22 LR though. None, zero zilch, nada.
