Here ya go Stick. More handgun fodder for you to make fun of.

And something a little bigger, but that was with a TOW, not a cheap rifle:

But, since you are, well, you, I'm sure you've shot bigger somewhere, somehow, at some time.

Don't know, don't care. I do know the tenderloins were awesome that night. 4 minutes a side at 400 degrees. Some mushrooms and onions sauteed in butter, Texas toast and a salad = dinner.

[Linked Image]

But it was a tad over 70 yards with a Ruger SBH sporting a Leupold FX-II fixed 2x scope, flinging a 240g Hornady XTP with a stout charge of W296.

wink

I kinda think of my rifles as "investments that shoot", so I've traded up over the years.

However I'm there when it comes to game meat and filled freezers.

where we hunt, skinning is a communal affair....

and so is eating.......

Tenders don't usually make past the pit. I'll lay em' out on a board. Take some Worchetershire Sauce, garlic powder, Tony Chacheries and pepper, marinade for about 10 minutes and throw on the grill. No more than three minutes a side and they are ready to go. Cut into chunks and serve with a shot of tequila and a lime squeeze.

Same way on hoglets.

Will take a hind or two and rub it down,

We have a propane smoker that does great. Put meat on before you go out in the afternoon, when ya get back it's just about ready to be taken off..

Then there are guys on this forum that their personalities are like owning a Yugo....nothing you'd be proud of and hopefully your friends won't hold against you....

But then again, you could put oversized rims with spinners on it with skinny tires and there would be someone in the ghetto who thinks it is cool...

Moral of the story.... IN Oakland there is a guy somewhere who thinks you are really COOL there Rauncho...

Can someone tell me what in the hell moobs just said?

I can see how that might irritate.

I lost a brand new Gerber Gator with a drop point blade on it's maiden hunting trip a few years back. That irritated me. I can't imagine donating a Randall to some future archaeologist.

The secondhand rack ADL worked on my 3 biggest Haybale & Crockett whitetail dinks.

$350 gun if I remember correctly?

And it's a 270, guess it just goes to show you can't stop greatness!

I think he was hit by a falling grouse. But he will deny that it is him in the pic.

Stick, it was a used Rem.788(.308) with Red Field scope base and rings, Burris Full Field scope(the early ones,3x9-34?) and Speer 150 gr BT.

During the off season I shot thousands of mil. sup. FMJs through it until I could only seat bullets to fit the mag. It still shot into less than an inch.

smile

My 788 308 does alright. It likes 165 GKs and Varget.

Somehow, despite the obvious disadvantages when compared to all the "better" rifles, scopes, and calibers out there, after shooting at a dozen or so deer, it has yet to miss a deer, or require two shots on one.

How can that possibly be??? Do any of you other guys actually go and kill stuff, grill it, and eat it, without using the forum's "preferred" boutique rifle and scope combo?

Heck, reading this forum, you'd think shoot'n a deer with a pistol would be dang near impossible....

Ain't popular with the campfire.... but I've seen a lot of local kids do pretty darn well with used Savages, synthetic stocks.. in 243 etc... that have done pretty well around here...

others with a low buck 30/30 from the Pawn Shops...

with a 4 power Tasco mounted on top....

must have been they didn't know any difference is why the combos didn't fail them....
