I have spent far too much time with the Grandkids and their horses this summer. (Big Grin)

But the rifles have been severely neglected. I took four out today for a bit of preseason workout.

The 264 with the 6-20X Vortex made me smile. But at ten pounds plus, I won't be packing it far.

Shooting was from my rolling bench, with bipod and with my arm under the butt for elevation. Hell, I could see three inches of heart beat on the target. I never was very good at shooting between heart beats.

The Ruger #1 in 7 STW loaded with 160 gr AB @ 3200 fps is barely grouping tight enough for elk to 400 yds.

The Rem 700 6-284 w/ 95 gr BT @3300 fps is shooting good enough for the kids to use it again this year for a deer.......if they keep shots inside 250 yds.

And the Ruger 77 mk II with the Rem 120 CL is still shooting 4 moa. The kids are welcome to use it, but they better be sneaky.

People who choose to brew up their own storms bitch loudest about the rain.
