Seems like I read in several places on the interwebs that the bc is .236. I did chrony them a few weeks ago. I got 2850 from a 16" barrel.

Thanks neighbor...
How do they feed? Those gold dots are kinda blunt are'nt they?
Have you tried them on hogs yet? Do you like these loads better than the 115 grain options?

here is a cool reference pic of a bunch of 270 bullets with B/C's but no speer gold dot... http://www.lolzilla.net/images/48332355802061104228.jpgI am wondering if the nosler accubond at 100 might not be a good compromise all things considered. Here is an informative thread on the 90 gold dot http://68forums.com/forums/showthread.php?40717-90-Grain-Gold-Dot-XM68GD-Info/page5Page 5: "I was getting 2900 fps today out of a 16 inch ARP. BC .236" These 6.8 guru's are saying that the 90 gold dot is not available as a component and probably never will be, only factory loads.

Rocky Mountain Reloading gets the 90 gr Gold Dots (pull downs) pretty regularly. You just have to check their website (rmrbullets.com) every couple of weeks. Even then they are not especially cheap.

I am scratchin my haid... but I think those factory loads might be the way to go and then reload the empties with these Nosler 90 grain premium bonded: Nosler Bonded Performance Bullets 6.8mm Remington SPC Caliber (277 Diameter) 90 Grain Spitzer Solid Base Box of 100 From the link above... It looks like the meplat of both the speer gold dot and the nosler premium bonded are about the same; I would assume they would feed reliably.

Have you tried them on hogs yet? Do you like these loads better than the 115 grain options? No feeding issues. Factory, I've tried 120 SST, 115 Fusion and 90 Gold Dots. I've reloaded 100 accubonds, 120 SST & 110 Hornady HP. Never had a feeding issue. I am hunting with my 6.8 this year, probably use 120 SST. I picked up some 110 TSX but haven't tried them yet.

I chrony'd the factory ammo last year from an 18.5" 6.8 Ruger Ranch Rifle. It was 2550 fps. I haven't out of my 16" AR but it should be 2450-2500. The BC is .400 so it retains velocity.
I reloaded 120 SST with 29.5 of H335 and TAC to a COAL of 2.95. They chrony'd 2440 with H335 and 2400 with TAC out of 16" barrel.

Thanks...
I have not seen TAC available for so long I gave up trying. I even called the makers and asked if it was still in production; they say it is.

Heart/Lung slight quartering away. Dropped, kicked twice & died. Extremely fast kill. Bullet did not exit which was a surprise. I didn't really look for it. It was getting hot and I just wanted to get the deer to the processor after field dressing.
