They will indeed send you a new pad. WWP53D

I've had good luck removing the screws, slicing off the pad material with a razor, and popping the plate off with a screw driver. I suppose I've been lucky to not bring any stock material with the plate.

If I don't like the new one I'll go with a Kick-Ease or similar grind to fit. Just put one on a VLS stock and it turned out nice (had to cut what was left of the old pad off with a sonic tool). Golden............
