Gasp! You mean a short action isn't necessary for a rifle to shoot accurately? I am going to go to all short action right after I can out shoot my long action rifles from field positions. John, I am glad to read this. Putting a 243 in a long action is like having size 10 feet and wearing size 12 shoes. You'll feel much better.

Those are good ones. Curious. What is gained by the 105-gr BTHP over the 100-gr BTSP, both Horn's?

Well, yes; I know, but is it MOA-at-400 yds better form?

It looks pretty good on H's website, a .5-something BC compared to the 100 BTSP at .405 (according to H).
Accuracy?
Point taken though I'm not a true "long range" guy here as compared to some.

Decreased wind drift along with more retained velocity help with "hittability" at range.
The high BC 105gr 6mm bullets rate building a gun around...

I shot the 105"s with 46.0 grains of H-1000. Velocity was 2954 out of a 26 inch 1-9 twist barrel. Very accurate load with low ES.
