"Ah, it's good to be back."

[Linked Image]

Well, yours truly has finally got back on the grid and like Mr. Stark I am ready to suit up and get to work beating up bad guys... That would be you guys in case you're having a slow day. blush

Everyone seems to be on board and making picks so I'll keep this post short. We all know the rules by this time and we'll work out any differences of opinion as we always have, between friends. Every week I'll let you know on this thread that the board is live and we're ready to pick. Making the transition from my tower to this tablet is giving my typing fingers a workout so I'm just going with one thread for the season.

But don't think I'm slacking. I've got some tasty morsels in the form of upset specials for this week so study up and don't let them sneak up on you.

Been a tough move. I'm well and truly into the north woods now and the pool had to be sneaked in the backdoor this year. I want to personally thank all of you for being patient and helping keep this little charity pool running. It is something I really enjoy.

Thanks and good luck fellas.

Will

Man, coming off a crappy week last week. I do miss the good old days when I could watch football every Saturday. I'll be cutting wood Saturday, hoping to catch the AZ game.

Indiana at Bowling Green- BG expecting good things in MAC play this year, allowed 50+ points to a pretty good WKU team. Nice tune-up last week against Virginia Military, should be ready for an improving Indiana team, but can they stop that beast running back? Indiana

WVU at Maryland- Well, the mountaineers could score on Bama. Maryland struggled to beat a crappy USF team last week, but a big part of that was 6 turnovers or however many they had. I like coach Edsall, I kindly doubt the Terps are as bad as they looked last week. And they killed WVU last year. Revenge spot for the 'Neers? Hope so. Towson is a good 1-AA ball club. Let's go with West VA

'Cuse at Central Mich- Couple crappers, Syracuse struggled week one with a good 1-AA ball club. They're coming off a bye and will probably beat Central Michigan but Cent Mich is supposed to have a good year (for them). Let's gamble on the Chippewa's

Louisville at Virginia- Good things expected out of VA this year, had a good game with UCLA (overrated). Still, the Cards have looked good so far with Petrino back. Gotta take the Cards.

Georgia at South Carolina- Screams trap game to me, everyone and their brother is on Georgia and I'm gonna do the same but preseason had the line -3 Cocks and they will want to win this one at home. Toss up, I'm taking Georgia off the bye.

Arkansas at Texas Tech- This is another one, gambling community all over the Hogs this week. I like them too but the Red Raiders at home suck to bet against but they have not looked good this year. Hogs

Iowa St at Iowa- BORING. Iowa football is so boring, they'll play down to anyone's level. Classic rivalry (for the state of Iowa, that is whistle) , Cyclones took K State to the wire last week. They always play Iowa hard. I love state to cover the spread, but am taking the Hawkeyes to win.

North Cackalacky St at South FLorida- Another bottom feeder bowl, I can't back USF especially with their QB out. NC State is no powerhouse though, even USF should be able to score once in awhile against NC State. Still, last week's Old Dominion win is better than what USF has done. NCST Wolfbait

UCLA at Texas- Brother. UCLA is very overrated in my opinion, Hundley has not impressed me at all the few times I've watched him. Bruins will go down, but not sure Texas will do it. Ash out indefinitely. "Must win" for the Longhorns and Strong...but so was last week. UCLA.

Penn St at Rutgers- Another coin flip, I hate betting on a Big Ten football team but they have a good QB who led a game winning drive against a good/decent UCF team. Defense held a decent Akron team to 3 and that was a big letdown spot for the Lions. Rutgers has no defense, and I can't hang a pick on Nova. Gamblers all over Rutgers this week BTW, I don;t see it. I like Penn St here.

At first glance, it looks like 10 easy picks where you have 15 people tied for first,....but you know how that usually goes...

Yep... Which is why I'm sitting here scratching my head trying to see the upset. You know there are one or two in there. Which ones?

What Winston said is now all over the Internet. I can't even post here what he said.

Talk about a boneheaded idiot!! He'll wind up in prison. Guaranteed.

Advantage Clemson!

This is "The" week for Clemson, right.? A loss here and it's goodbye Conference championship, goodbye BCS bowls...

With Winston out the first half, I'm going with Clemson in a squeaker...

Another one I can't figure out, is why is Memphis an 11.5 pt favorite?

Still waiting on Bob's Lock of the Week... laugh

Yup----just like Carolina last week.

I figure ClemPson has to put up 24 in the first half to win and then rely on their number 3 defense. I think FSU is number 2.

Finally a Thursday night decision/pick gets off to the right start. Sorry to the 3 dice rollers.

Thinking Bob has moved his operations off-shore and going for Asian big dogs.

After watching FSU beat Okie State, I'm just not that impressed with FSU.

IMO, there's a few SEC teams that would probably stomp em. I think Oregon and OU could probably beat em as well.

Venebeles was a darn good Defense coach while here at OU and he led OU to beat FSU a few times, so he knows what he's up against.

If ever there was a time for Clemson to pull the underdog win, it's today. There will never be a better chance.

I'm picking Clemson just for the Halibut...

We'll find out what they're made of in South Carolina today...

Now watch LSU lose at home or some other fool thing....

I'm a stones throw away from taking Miss State. And I believe ClemPson is ready after putting up 73 against a good SC State defense. FSU was struggling with the deep ball when they had Jamis in the game.

Tigers need to get their freshman QB in this game. I predict he is the difference maker.

WV-OK is a toughie. Glad it's not in the pool. eek

If I've heard the stats right, WV gives up more sacks than anybody in the conference.

The D line is scary good, and the linebacker Striker sniffs out quarterbacks like sharks on a blood trail.

Unless WV changes some things, their QB will be under a lot of duress...

Then again, it's OU, they could lose by 35....
