anyone loading for one of these?

What is your preferred method of neck sizing the 223 down to 20 caliber...

a 223 bullet seater works just fine to seat a bullet and a 223 body die bumps the shoulder back just fine also...

a 204 die is just a little too long....

Thinking of a Hornady 20 cal universal neck sizing die...but open to any other suggestions...

thanks in advance..
cheers

Don't load the 20 practical but rather the tac version. Can't imagine sizing being more difficult than one pass through the die as the practical is just a 223 necked to 20 right? The 20 tac needs fireformig as it is slightly dif shoulder angle.
If I were doing it over again I would go with the practical and save the fireformig step.. Good luck it should be a shooter...

Kevin Weaver is the gunsmith who originally made the 20 Practical. His shop is 15 miles round trip from my house. Here is an old article about converting a Redding S die.

The redding .223 rem FL bushing die is what I was using, forming with an intermediate step. I'll get you the bushing sizes when I start unpacking in Idaho in a couple days. I never did get the right parts for the 20 cal stem for it though, so was decapping with a universal die.

While it isn't the cheapest setup, I think it is going to yield the best results for you unless that donut thing starts happening.

I pretty much use a universal decapping die for 99% of my resizing the case... decapping die, neck die , and then a body die when needed...
