I was wondering what you guys think the best all around hunting boot is that I can find in a SIZE 15 OR 16? I have been stuck in Lacrosse for about 15 years and was thinking of trying something else. I really don't want to spend more than 200 on one pair and I plan to wear them for everything from archery to turkey in NW PA.

Man, it's got to be tough finding stuff that big (no offense intended) without having to get it custom made. Good luck with your search.

It is at times, but i've learned to deal with it. I just hate ordering stuff without trying it on, and the stores never seem to stock that size. Looking at Danner Pronghorns, Irish Setter Rutmasters, or maybe just sticking with Lacrosse.

Have you tried Redwing? They're my favorite boot but I'm 6 sizes less than you.

Over the years, I've had pretty good luck with various boots from Bob's Army/Navy in Clearfield. They have a large selection of stuff on hand. I don't know how far away that is but you could give them a call, see what they have, and if you go, add a visit to Grices. Just trying to help you spend your money Dale

Rocky makes a couple hunting boots in a 15 and 16 for under $200. IRRC they are pretty generous in the sizes too. I wear a 14 boot and the 14 Rocky is almost too big.

If you don't mind uninsulated Altama makes a "desert boot" that is very comfy, and cut big. I normally wear a size 14 and their 13 is plenty big with room to spare. But i'd give bigcamo.com a good look first

I wear 14s and also only like to buy boots I've tried on. Too much size variance, some mfrs 14 is like a 12 it seems. Heck, a 14 in diff styles from the same Co sometimes doesn't fit the same(LaCrosse is a good example).

I wear a 12 or 13 depending on who makes it. Somehow a 14 or 15 just seems a whole lot bigger.....

I feel your pain. I wear a size 15. There's not a lot of manufacturers out there offering extended sizes. Discrimination I tell ya.
Lowa and a few others make sizes up to 16. I have a pair of Lowa Rangers that are very comfortable and have held up well. You can get those around $200.
Also keep an eye out for the Danner Break Room sales. Many times they will have 15-16's at really good prices ($80-$130)
No stores near me carry any in my size, so I have to order them in to try. However, many places offer free shipping and some also offer free returns.

I wear 16 or 17's depending on cut of the shoe. Try outsize outfitters.com - it is a company that specializes in outdoor wear for big folks. Check out their website and them send them an email before ordering as they always seem to have some stock that is not listed on their website that they'll sell at clearance prices. About a week ago they had some Columbia boots on sale. The former pro football player Refrigerator Perry owns the company I think. They are located in Birmingham, Alabama.
Another excellent source is Friedman's Shoes in Atlanta. They stock up to size 22 in most shoes. Their entire stock is available on their online catalogue and they do very good mail order. You'll have to google them as I do not recall their website information at the moment.
You can buy with confidence from both firms.

Thanks for all the feedback guys! Heading to Bobs Army Navy shortly. Hopefully I find something I like there. If not I will try the sites that were recommended!
