Anyone tried one out or have one? If so, what are your thoughts?

I bought one for my wife in 40. She likes it but says for her it feels alittle big. I have shot it and it handles well. I am use to my 226 in 40 and my FNX45 so the 2022 fits my hand. The only real problem is finding a holster for it. Took awhile to find one that would fit.

Anyone tried one out or have one? If so, what are your thoughts? Very nice and very underrated. The pistol is very similar to the classic P226, but with a lighter poly frame and without the myriad of trigger and finishing options. Some shooters don't like the DA/SA trigger and some don't mind it. I'm in the latter group.

Very under appreciated gun, I actually prefer the slide stop on yhe 2022. Holster are much more prevalaint now than a year ago, Safariland, Desantis, and several of the Boutique kydex makers make holsters for them
If you buy the "tac pac" it comes with a really decent light/laser combo and a kydex paddle holster that accepts the light or bare gun

The way I heard it Sig discontinued civilian sales for a time due to overwhelming military/government sales.
The SP2022 is not listed on Sig's 'discontinued' web page.

I carried one for 16 months in Iraq and fired about 150-200 rounds per week. I really didn't care for it as I never could find a natural point of aim. Always had to deliberately adjust my aim to get on target. Nice and reliable and a good gun, I actually planned to buy one when I returned home, just never fell in love with it.

So mixed results but mostly positive which is good. That being said, where would I go about finding extra magazines for the 2022?

Top Gun Supply should be able to help you.
I buy my SIG parts, most of my magazines and the occasional pistol from them. Great prices and service.

I have this model and a P226 both in .40 cal and think that the SP2202 or now 2340 is one of the great values in the world of handguns. Not the best but a great value.
I put the large grips on mine and have had good luck with it and find it very easy to shoot swell with it.
Thinking about one in a 9mm but I already have a G19 and G17 so there is more overlap there than I need.

The SP2022 is not listed on Sig's 'discontinued' web page. Story I heard is: the model designation 2022 reflects the year Sigs contract with French Special Forces expires. The 9mm version reflects the military requirements. The 40s&w 2022 does not have many of the features of the 9mm 2022. I liked my 9mm so well I bought a 40, only to be disappointed. O

They are not a bad pistol. The trigger on mine is a little gritty. I dont shoot it as well as other autos I have, but for shooting across a room, it would be just fine.

You can order the 40 with night sights.

You can order night sights on the .40. Besides, I don't consider N/S and a LCI as "many features".

O I'm pretty sure that's just a Sig thing and nothing to do with chambering. The US made SP2022's do not and the German made do have loaded chamber indicators. Nights sights is just an option on both.
