Anyone have range and hunting experience with this combination?
Loads? Accuracy at long range?
Thanks in advance for any info you can share.

Can't help you on the wsm but it screams out of my tikka 300 win at 3530fps and is very accurate. The 130 ttsx has been very accurate in many 308 cartridges for me. I have no doubt it will be excellent in your gun. Just try your fav 130 data.....set em 50k off the lands....or more....and have at it. It does not make more pressure than any other 130s for me btw. If you are interested pm me and I'll link you up to copper club data for Barnes and the wsm.

Good to know. I have the Barnes #3 manual which doesn't have the TTSX bullets listed. Yes, I'd like the link.
I've loaded that bullet in the 308 and it has been accurate. I just got to thinking it might be worth trying in the WSM but before I go off half-cocked, I thought I'd ask The Campfire for thoughts and ideas.
Thank you.

I've loaded it over 69.5gr of H-414 for almost 3400 fps. It's accurate enough, but it just doesn't carry the velocity well because of the relatively low ballistic coefficient. I've got a load that pushes a 165 gr. Ballistic Tip or Accubond at over 3200 fps. that I use instead.

The 130TTSX is a good match with smaller cases to gain a few FPS, but in a larger case higher BC is your friend.
It ain't all burritos and strippers my friends...

I use it from time to time in a 300 WM, but I prefer the 150 grain XLC because it provides better velocity at range. The 150 XLC matches pretty close for drop with 165 TTSXs.

Miles, TC--Thanks for your replies. I think I'll save the 130's for the 308. 'Twas just an itch that didn't need to get scratched after all.

I think I should say this though...
There is a lot to be said for a round that gets there that quickly, and once it arrives, it just flat out gets Bambi's attention. Doesn't make any difference in how dead, doesn't shoot smaller groups, doesn't make a lot of sense, but it sure scratches that itch to smack one with a 3500 FPS plus bullet that's bigger than a 53 grain 22 caliber. Do that with a C&C bullet and it just wrecks a lot of meat. Do it with a TTSX and it isn't near so messy with 95% of the fun still there.

Miles, thanks for the followup. I was just thinking out loud, I guess. There is a proven 257Wby with 100gr TSX that could be pressed into service should a long-range need arise. Awesome accuracy and little meat damage from that round, too. So many choices, so little time. WN
