Do yourself a favor and get yourself some Wolf or S&K ammo, try Graf and son . After wasting many dollars I use Fed Auto Match for plinking and S&K or Wolf to see what a gun will do, Eley sub sonic HP for tree rats. If you shoot competion you have to use Eley or Lapua to be competive.

Except for the fact that I've retired from hunting, what you described is very close to my approach.
In addition to the Lapua and Eley, the new Norma TAC-22 is getting good reviews from some serious shooters.
