I just consummated the deal for this 2008 low miles very clean Ranger XP 700. It has a new snow plow, metal top, full windshield and back glass. The winch is wireless remote and never had a load on it.

Now I'll have a place for the wife and three dogs! laugh

Any tips for feeding and caring of this model, quirks, etc.?

Do yourself a favor and put at least some 1/4 or 1/2 doors on that rig so people won't have a tendency to stick their legs out of it.

And congrats on the Ranger, that thing looks brand spanking new!

That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.

Great find. That is a nice clean machine, most likely purchased from a little old lady that drove it only to church on Sunday. grin

Nice! Having some back support makes a big difference over a regular 4 wheeler.

tikkanut,

I got it muddy in the driveway today. We finally got some of those water drips that fall from above...I think it's called "rain"? Been a long time since I saw any.

Jim,
I'll be taking it to Austin tomorrow. Sagehen and forest grouse seasons are on, and it's the last day of my muzzle loader deer season.

BTW, Jim...that blue you shot and Cookie retrieved to me was great eating. Peg chicken fried it, and we had it with mashed spuds and white gravy. There were no leftovers. wink

Think deer/elk livers. laugh

I agree!

I've been surfing, looking for full doors for it. The only ones I found are cloth with no frame and zip open. I'd like suicide doors, but I can't seem to find any. confused confused

I'd also like to find a w/s wiper kit...one that goes on top and wipes most of the windshield. Almost everything available anymore is for a 2009 and up.

I did already. They don't have anything for the 2002-2008 Rangers, only 2009 and up. frown

L2S, try contacting Kolpin at this website and see if they might offer the hard doors for your rig.

I'm afraid your out of luck on the hard doors L2S, I'm even having a tough time finding one for my 09 Rhino.

I hate the idea of a soft door but if I use it only in the winter for plowing it might work out ok. Been researching the net on utv heaters too and there's a good variety of them out there.

Need to get this thing done before the snow flies!!

I hear you.

I'm ordering a set of zipper doors with zipper windows. I might see if I can make a rigid frame with 1/2" steel conduit.

I also find I get a lot of heat up from the engine. And, if I take off the insulated panel under the seat I get a lot more. It probably isn't enough for your weather, but it should help some here during our winter. We get down to -10 or so on occasion, but not for long.

I might be adding a heater, wipers, and a defroster.

Maybe I should have gotten a Jeep CJ???? confused confused grin grin

You should consider putting a led light bar on your Ranger, ive' got one on the Rhino and I love it, that thing lights up the night as bright as daytime. Will come in real handy this winter plowing at night.

You can put together your own heater kit by buying the parts from Summit Racing, they have everything you need to do it. I'm probably going to buy a Firestorm heater and install a defrost for the windshield, they're supposed to be very good heaters.

Welcome to the world of utv ownership, the fun has just begun!!
