I just put up a trail cam and did some scouting in other areas. I found a heckova good spot if some of the other hunters overlook some of the obvious spots right at border or the boundary.

Does that special permit area deer count against your "one deer" per year thing Mn got going on now?

Tomorrow (October 1st.) is the starting day of muzzle loader deer season here in upstate South Carolina. Regular gun season opens October 11th. I wanted to plan to go tomorrow but got a few things I just gotta take care of. Probably will go Saturday and/or Sunday. My wife is on a cruise all next week with her sister so I will have chances all week.
I only bought two does tags this year as opposed to my regular four. I never use them all anyway.
I have joined new lease this year. I hunted it some as a guest last year. Great place. Progress will be posted.

Stan, do you have a buck tag too? Good luck with the smokepole!
Here in MI the buck tags are OTC. You can buy one or a combo. One of the bucks on the combo has to have 4 or more to a side. There are a couple of APRs in the state, otherwise 3" or longer are legal.
No flaming here Ryan. Your idea is sound game management. Here in MI with 750K+ gun hunters and 350K+ bow hunters, the DNR is looking for the almighty dollar instead at $31 and $51 a pop respectively.

It does if you shoot a buck as far as I know. The area is in the 601 Metro zone so I can shoot 5 does. The real reason I even wanted the tag is to get freezer pleasers.

Does that special permit area deer count against your "one deer" per year thing Mn got going on now? I did that early doe hunt down in southeast Mn. last year. Was going to go this year too, but have decided to stay home and just get ready for gun season. For that hunt, you can take up to 5 does and it doesn't count against your limit during the regular season, archery, or ML seasons.

Why is it when you put a trail cam out, you want to check it within minutes? I'm giddy to find out what is on it! Hasn't even been 24 hours and I want to go see it. I will anxiously give it until at least tomorrow afternoon.maybe Friday afternoon if I can take it. I did find another decent spot I'd like to try so maybe I'll pull the card, and move the spot tomorrow, then pull it Friday. I'm bringing all the cams up north this coming weekend.
I'm heading up with my BIL to fix stands and shoot some guns. A lot of guns!

CFT, we are allowed a buck anytime with a limit of five deer as I understand the regulations. We have doe days but the doe tags I buy are "use anytime" tags. A doe killed on a legal doe day does not require to be adorned with one of these tags.

Well the only thing on the trail camera is ME! Crap! Nobody wants to look at that. There were deer tracks in the areas, so they're around anyway.... Oh well. I'm bringing it up north this weekend, if I don't get it out, I'll put it in another spot here and see what shows.

They it looks now is they ate a bunch in the locker room and are still too full to move. I'd rather see Samantha Ponder play QB then Christian Ponder. The results would be better I'm sure.
