I know you are a neck stretcher (like me) and prefer rifles with 14" LOP. . I do like the looks of the 2.5-8x36, I just wish they were more mount friendly for the long actions.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Long actions are what 3.5-10x40's are for.

Mine is on a P64 M70 in 375H&H with Talley QR's
I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all. Jack O'Connor

There are some real neat paint jobs here on the 'fire but that red/grey/stainless combination is very attractive; rather sublime.

Hey, thanks.
The green/black/tan is a McMillan KS and the brown/red is a Bansner.

Eric Thanks, it was my grandfather's. It's a No 1V in 7mm mag, apparently somewhat less common of a combination of caliber and trim. Another campfire member informed me that it was made in 1977 based on the serial number.

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum. I do tend to fit in well wherever I go in person. The campfire is the most outside exposure I get. No TV, no newspaper.

Nosler Outfitter 35 Whelen. B&C Reticle. Talley extended lows. Awesome combo, used it on a Elk three days ago.

Winchester 70 EW 308 in an Edge stock.
Most people don't really want the truth.
They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.
