I'm burning 48.0 of IMR 4831 pushing a 140 Bergerer VLD at 2,900 mv. ES of 8. Lapua brass FED 215 primer.

24" barrel.

129 Hornady would be my first pick. Maybe the 130 AB

140 ABs & H4831sc & Lapua brass

120 -130 you will find your load between 44.5 and 46 grains of H4350. It's worked too many times for me in different 6.5X55 to be a fluke.

140 - R22 to 48 and maybe 49.

120 bt and 130 ab shoot great in my 1:8 twist.

This cartridge surprises many 1st time users. Animals fall over to the shot with remarkable consistency.
129gn Hornady should not be overlooked.

You must have the world's fastest Swede. 2900 with a 140 is 6.5-284 and 6.5-06 territory.

I doubt it.

Not with a longer COAL and not loading it
to old military pressures of which the loading guides do.

Loaded to modern pressures the Sweede does fine.

I have 15 pcs of Lapua brass into their 9th loading now and still going.

No reason why this cartridge can't be loaded up like the 6.5x47.

Old men have ruled it to long.

And Nosler #6 shows 140 gr up to 2800 with a slightly compressed charge.. They do note that these loads are intended for 'modern firearms' and not the old military stuff..

My m70 is back from the smith and now a 6.5x55! I has a 21" shilen select match featherweight contor barrel. With the leupold 4x, talleys, factory stock, and sling it weighed in at 7 pounds 10 ounces hope to be at 7 with an edge or manners and ptg aluminium bottom metal. Only have a 50 yard range at the house but the first 3 shot group is very promising. I am shooting factory lapua 136grn scenars, will be trying the 123s next.

I have had my best luck with 120's to 140g. Current load in my 6.5X57 which is about the same thing uses 130g Accubonds and RL19. 120 TSX works very well also. My Sako like the SST, and 4895. Also shot the heavy original Barnes X 165g very well. Talk about a long bullet, about 1 3/4"... I pickup a new CZ550FS in 6.5X55 tomorrow so will be going down the same road soon. Scenars are Lapua's target bullets, very accurate but I have not used them on game yet. Got a box of 50 coming in 123g for the brass. I use true .480 head brass instead of the US .473 -06 Head brass. Might not really matter but my Sako shot Lapua and Norma brass better than Rem, Win,or Fed brass.

Have you ever measured Prvi Partizan brass? European made and should fit in with the Norma, Lapua, etc.

Every Euro brand I have seen is CIP spec with the larger head. Privi, RWS, Hirtinberg, Sellior & Bellot etc. Seems the US makers are not on board or it is cheaper to use the common .473 -06 head. Not sure what Nosler or Hornady is, as I have not checked.

130 AB, 45.5 H4350 in Lapua did well in my Ruger K1A.
140, 47/RL22 is a common load for about 2700 w/good accuracy.

120 Gr. B-Tip seem to work well for me in the Swede.

Don't have my load data in front of me.

In the time since my last post on that thread I've located a gunsmith who both had a fast twist, deep grooved military barrel in his shop and who agreed to build and install the bushing necessary to fit a 96 barrel onto my 98 action.

Because of how tough the Swede seems to be on lightly built bullets, I'll be trying 120gr TTSX,125gr Partitions, 127grLRX and 130gr TSX in it for hunting bullets and 129gr Hornady Spires for practice.

I'm hoping to have a 21" barrel when it's all done - our daughter's original 96 Swede has a 20" barrel and as mentioned in the linked thread it works very well on deer sized animals.
