I can't stop looking at those Kimber 22s. I find them to be as nice as the coopers as far as styling and finish. Anyone have or had one? How did you like it? Not much out there I would consider an upgrade over my CZ453 but one of those K22s may just do it.

Anyone heard anything about Kimber perhaps starting production on those again in the future? Damn shame really.

i always have a few Kimbers, both Oregon guns and Kimber of America, and have been happy with them. I do like CZ's also, mine shoot well, but the stock ergos on the Kimbers are maybe a tad better for me and i've never had a Kimber that wouldn't shoot.

Since Kimber tried twice in the rimfire market, i think they may be hesitant to give it a third try.

are you looking at a slim sporter, or for more of a bench gun?

I have quite a few very fine .22's, the Kimber SVT is the most accurate. I was using it for benchrest until my wife started shooting with me, she appropriated it and left me with second best.

If you can't find a Kimber, keep your eyes out for the Winchester Repro 52's . Great rifles with excellent triggers and good ergos. Shoot as well as the Kimbers, IMHO and you can usually find them around on rimfirecentral.com, pawn shops, gun shows, or Gunbroker for $700-850. You can also find the Kimbers on Gunbroker. There is a very nice Kimber HS 22 on the classifieds on this site that is about as good as it gets.

I had a Kimber Hunter that shot like a typewriter. One straight line from left to right. Sent it back to Kimber, they replaced the bolt and recrowned it and sent it back with a test target.

The test target looked like a typewriter on a bumpy road.

Took it out with a bunch of different ammo, did the same and sold it off.

Was really disappointed too because it was such a nice action and trigger.

However, I had a close shooting buddy who had one of the high end Kimbers. Like in the $1100-1300 range and that thing was a LAZERBEAM. Beautiful to boot too. I think his only gripe was that an extra 5 round mag costs something like $50 or $100. Something absurd. But that was such a sweet shooting gun...

I have a Yonkers K22 with the 3 position safety that's my favorite 22LR. They're sweet rifles.....excellent fit and finish and great triggers. Mine hasn't been finicky at all. It will shoot several flavors of 22LR ammo better than 1/2" at 50yds.

My Kimber Hunter is very accurate and beautifully made.

My Kimber Hunter is from Yonkers, shoots under 1/2" groups at 50 yards with dang near anything. I had a Yonkers built SVT that was the same way. Should've kept it but wound up with a Montana in 223 so I came out ahead.

Kimber still sells magazines for around $30 or less, I bought 4 last spring.

If you find a Yonkers 22, buy it.

I really like my Hunter that I bought in 2007, killed a bunch of squirrels with it.

Have 5 NY 22's all shoot very well. The only function isssues with the NY rifles are mag related and easily fixed.

I have both Oregon and New York Kimbers as well as Coopers in 22LR.

I must say that I like the K22 Hunter just as much as the Cooper JSR if not better. The K22 stock is just a great fit for me. They all shoot bugholes so I don't think you could go wrong.



MCT3 that Hunter you posted above is a nice one. I was fortunate enough to find one with really nice wood also. Funny how some of the Hunters have much nicer handles than the Classics.

Thanks twofish. It was a lucky gun show find and the timber is much nicer than many classics that I've seen.

Nice shooting. My K22 also likes the SK standard + and Wolf MT the best and shoots the SK HV HP's almost as well.

I've been lurking over the usual suspect websites and finding a 800-1100$ k22 to be the range. The $1000 threshold seems to be the avg considering the small sample size.

Had an Oregon 82c. Loved it. Most accurate 22 i have ever used. However if you think finding one of the Oregon 5 shot clips is a pain try looking for the 4 shot version for the 82c that being said I would love to pick up another one someday.
