http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/.../products_id/90809/Remington+700+SPS+260

The Buds description indicates that the SPS 260 has a 1/8 twist; right out the box.

So, considering the fact that Remington's rule of thumb is a 3 mile throat...

What is the advantage of a Creedmoor over this?

Not stirring the pot to bicker, I honestly want to understand things I don't understand...

In a 2.8" mag, a slight advantage to the creed when seating longer bullets.

More factory rifles chambered in .260 especially Kimber, Remington 700, Tikka.

Not enough difference in performance to be worried about.

If you like the SPS, buy some 120 NBT's or 130 AB's and be good to go.

The last two factory 700 260rem rifles I had would touch lands with Accubonds at 2.82". That's not horrid.

It's funny people think you need to be on the lands to get good accuracy.

You don't, but it's the best place to start and it's not a bad thing to have mag match.

Of course a production rifle can't be set up to match 174 different bullets, which escapes many.

Compulsively finger banging a computer won't do anything to find accuracy either.

I'd drop the card on a vanguard II in creedmore and start burning powder.

I wish those phuuking things didn't weigh so much, because that would be a fun rig.

I suspect I am not alone in wishing Remington would chamber the 260 in the mtn rifle again!

The hamstring on s/a rems, that nobody is discussing, is the 1/8 twist is great for long bullets, but the 2.8" mag is stuffing bullets into the case and taking up powder room.

Excuse my ignorance, but are there aftermarket mags that give a little more space?
