the stupid thing forgot it's only a $300 rifle.

 with a $80, 4x40 scope

Next up, to try a li'l more jump on those TSX's, to see if they'll tighten-up a smidge. It's gonna take some work to get the rest of the battery to shoot as well as the "loaner".

Still, this takes some of the sting out of having somewhat foolishly sold my last XL7 to Orion2000. grin

That's really too bad - missed the black bullseye every time. Hope you get a better rifle next time... wink

Just PLEAZE do not take that combo out hunting...

any regular campfire expert can tell ya, that a $300 rifle, especially with an $80 scope can't put a hole in anything except a target on a piece of paper.... and definitely won't be able to kill anything weighing over 2 or 3 lbs....

its like being able to save 15 % in 15 minutes on car insurance... everybody knows that...

That's as good as some of the groups shown from the high dollar custom rifles with $3000 scopes.

Yup - plus another 75, for good measure. wink

So, if XL7 = long action, and XS7 = short action, should I hold my breath for them to roll out a XI7, so I can have a 7x57?

The XS-7 shoots great as well as the XL-7, still trying to find a XS-7 in camo and ss in 7-08. They are a lot of gun for the money. My XS-7 308 wears a Burris 6x with a fine crosshair and dot when hunting, a lot of the time it wears a Leupold Mk 4 10 x for general shooting. Yeah a $300 gun that lives up to a $1000 scope. Got to like that. Magnum Man

I've had two XL7 .270 Winchesters and both shot lights out. I was dumb enough to let both get away. If I get another it will be a 7-08.

I can definitely see that line o' thinking. I only got this .30-06 because it sat in the classifieds for too long at too good of a price. I HAD to buy it. blush

It's funny.......I've been told that very thing when I've had some very promising loads worked up on targets; the unaware are rather easily mislead eh?

Looks like good shooting for all involved. smile

Mine in .243 was the best shooting center fire I have owned. Groups were in the .3" range for 3 shots on good days with the 85 gr hpbt.

Going to make one in 223 into a 6x45 soon just for fun.
