I would think no. What animal gets shot with a .20 pill that needs controlled expansion?

They don't make one in .224, so why would they make one in .204.

The do make the 64 grain bonded solid base in .224 which covers that space.

I can only imagine that it would be pretty good medicine for coyotes, but I doubt they will ever make it.

204s work just fine on deer, especially with the 45 grain Hornady. But it would be nice to have a dedicated big game bullet in 20 caliber.

Too bad that load is so hard to find; looked for that 45 for a friend who hunts fur (wolves on down) and prefers the less destructive slower bullet, especially when he tags fox with it.

How many states allow 20 cal? Most stop at 22 cal for deer.

Lots of states have no restrictions, or at least require it to be centerfire.

Alaska would be fine

I believe that is one of the bullets on Hornady's suspended list. Hopefully they get them going soon; a friend of mine really likes them for fur, as well as deer & antelope.

Next we'll be hearing from Savage 99, ranting about how the .257 Roberts is totally inadequate for deer, and why would anybody use the .204 when there are real deer cartridges out there like the widely-available .358 Winchester?

I don't have the inside scoop, but I know him well enough to say he was sick of the drama, the trolls, and the contention. He is just a plain good guy, knows his stuff, and loves to shoot/hunt a lot.
I will have to look him up next time Im in Boz Angeles.

A CRF rifle is also a must, because with a push feed there is little chance of the round making it all the way into the chamber without a dreadful jam.
