When I ship something out, its on me until it gets in the hands of the buyer. If it gets phuggged up in shipping, though its not my fault, its on ME, because I have the ability to get my money back through the shipper, not the buyer.

It sucks when a sale doesnt go well, but unless the buyer intentionally screwed with the product, its on YOU the seller. Damn...$60 and you piss everyone off? Was it worth it? Because of financial timing issues, I didnt eat for a day just to make sure the buyer got his $120 back. I dont know your situation, but I believe you coulda pulled $60 outta your ass just to save face. He bought it from you, not paypal.

I had the exact thing happen with $200 worth of bullets I sent that were stolen or lost. I didn't insure it, so I sent the buyer his money back on his word that they didn't arrive. Sucked for everyone, unless he lied.

Doesnt matter if he lied, if you'd have put insurance on it. I dont know about you, but I insure everything. You trust a shipper? I dont.

I agree. It was my mistake not to insure it, so he got his money back. That one hurt too, at that time I had $280 to my name and I sent him back $200.

I guess it's a good thing he decided NOT to send payment as a gift???

I thought about that, too. Maybe he did a bait and switch and sent me a different one back, and that's why he wouldn't show it as a gift.

No...YOU were the one who originally requested payment be sent as a "gift"... that in itself tells me a lot.

I don't recall ever seeing a low priced compass without a bubble in it.

Mac 1978 is a liar. I have not received any money back. I am still out $73.38, the $60 purchase price plus $13.38 return shipping.

Don't doubt you a bit pal...Sorry about your loss. Maybe file a complaint with Paypal??? They might review his transactions & bill him for other "gifts"...

Oh, I think if you'll check you'll see that you're all squared away. I sent you some extra to cover that shipping, cause you obviously need it a lot more than I do.

Won't find a high priced one without either.

Just this moment received an email from PayPal saying:

"We have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in your
favor
.

We were able to recover $60.00 USD and this amount has been credited to
you. Please allow five business days for this adjustment to be posted.

If you are due any additional funds, we will make our best effort to
recover the balance from the seller.

If the seller's account has insufficient funds to complete the refund owed
to you, please be assured that we will take appropriate action against the
seller's account, which may include limitation of the seller's account
privileges."

So I will only be out the return shipping to this POS.

Read above statement about the shipping. Yes, I sure am. But an ethical one that is not a liar and a cheat.

Just received another email that the shipping has also been refunded. So PayPal did a good job going after this POS.

Beware forever doing business with Mac1978, unfit to be a 'fire member.
