Just finished an all stainless LH 700 ultralight build in .280 Remington. Barrel is a factory pencil mountain contour-22", added a PTG shroud and guard, Timney, stock is a Micky kevlar which I inletted for the mountain tube. I added some micky stainless studs as well. Local Smith Mel Doyle spun and spaced the tube, nicely indexed. Gun weighs in at 5lbs 15 ounces bare, 6lbs 11 ounces with a new Leupy FX-II 6x36mm in Talley x-tra lows. Moment of truth... Jumped on the wheeler and rode to our back forty 100 yard range and shot it for the first time today. Out of moa targets, paper plate and sharpie had to do... First shot was on the paper, to the right. I tweaked the 6x36 and the next three shots were 1/2 moa with $20 a box Federal Fusion 140 grain. No adjustments at all after the initial shot dial-in. Barrel was warm/hot after the first two shots but had no affect at all on the second two. I didn't space the shots. Couldn't be happier!

Deer and elk season here, Larry. Hopefully time to fill the freezer.
My LH 700 FS in .06 is a real tackdriver, but it is blued....this .280 will be my 'go to' in the slop. Deer season in north Idaho can be a real mess between rain, sleet and snow. Last fall I was chasing my (departed) blued nula with the oil constantly.

I've got one that just came back from the smith a couple weeks ago. A #3 Rock 5R stainless barrel 6.5mm 8.5 twist, Remington CDL action, McMillan Edge stock all done up by Pennsylvania gunsmith Sid Goodling. The bolt was fluted a couple years ago by Karl F. Chambering is 260 Remington. I have only shot it one time as I've been pretty busy. I burned up some old Sierra Pro Hunter 120's I had. It shot OK but I need to spend more time with it soon. I'll get some pics in the next few days hopefully. It'll be my last build.

Cool! Congrats. Always nice to have success right away with a new rifle...
I've seen more well-shot game lost with TSXs than any other premium bullet.
