OP John_Boy Campfire Outfitter Joined: Feb 2009 Posts: 13,004 Henderson, Texas	Had to drag out my Ludwig Olson Mauser book. Page 189 & 190 indicate it could be a Paraguayan trigger guard.. Argentine 1909 guards did not have locking screws. There is a mark on the floor plate that looks like the lower case Greek Phi. Commercial Mausers had both locking and non locking versions on their trigger guards. I am the way, the truth, and the life: no one comes to the Father but by me. John 14:6

Page 206 shows both the Portuguese model 904/M39, and the Brazilian Vergueiro to have this type of guard. They also shows the release protrusion clearly.
