Unfortunately, there probably are a few here who really would prefer to see me kick off, and this is just an internet site where they have never even met me or know me in any real sense. Sad, mostly for them. Oh well, hateful people are gonna hate. I am thankful for my many, many friends and will focus on them and the good things in my life.

No need to sign off to the hospital regarding relinquishing ownership of the excised kidneys/tissue preemptively.

Prayers sent for a great outcome, Mark.
Prayers also sent for Sherri, as she will need MUCH patience!

Thank you everyone. We are excited and hopefull! I SO appreciate those of you who will be remembering Sherri during the tough days ahead as well. As it is I am of not much use around the house and yard etc lately, leaving her with too much of the load. This will change, hopefully, with a new Kidney but there will be some long and hard days in the recovery. We have to stay in Seattle, right by the hospital, for 4-5 weeks minimum after my surgery as to hear them tell it I will be pretty fragile and helpless during that time. I am not looking forward to that time, at ALL.... My mom, who is still pretty spry at age 74 and who is a retired RN is going to come both to Seattle with us and stay here in our home to live for a month or more. No doubt that she will be a BIG help to us. My step dad will be with us as well in case Sherri needs help getting me out of a chair or bed or if I fall and have to have significant help getting up. I will not be able to put ANY stress on my stomach muscles or abdominal region (according to what we heard and saw in the classes we all took at the transplant center) out of fear that I blow out a suture holding my kidney to - quite literally - 100% of my blood supply. A blowout would be very quickly lethal. Some here are hoping and maybe even praying for the lethal blowout but I expect to dissapoint them all and continue my rambling and posting here for still more decades to come! grin

Thanks again for all of the prayers and kind wishes, I feel a comeback coming on... cool

I've had a liver transplant. It ain't no cake walk for the first few days. Especially the first two. But the rest is not so bad.

Relax. Recoup. Rest a lot. Then walk and get your strength back.

Blessing to your donor and his/her family. You're getting your blessing already!
