Thinking about building a Faux Ti.

Looking for specs on rifles some of the other 'fire members have built.

Pics too...

Had one with a factory 260 barreled action in a Ti-style stock. The B&C stock shape did not work for me, especially the grip. It was a sweet little rifle otherwise. If I'd gone ahead and went with the Edge Mountain Rifle stock I originally wanted, I'd probably still have the rifle.

Built one with a SS .280 Remington Mountain Rifle action and barrel, bedded in a Ti stock, for one of my grandsons. Don't have any photos, but it works and he loves it.

It may be considered sacrilege, but a standard SPS-SS chopped to the right barrel length and put in the MR pattern Edge would be the way I'd go today if doing something along those lines again. The KS contour would likely also suffice. Or just buy a Montana if wanting to go lighter.

Posted this one before. Its my 1st "faux Ti".
Gander Mtn Guide rifle in .243. Stock painted & bedded by Eddie Fosnaugh. Bolt flute by Karl @ Kampfeld Customs. Don't use this one much but its a nice shooter and a handy little rifle.

cm action, takeoff mountain ss barrel in 30-06, flip-flop recoil pad, talleys and a 6x36 leupold weighs a touch under 6lb 9oz. Less a couple ounces with the 4x33 it currently wears.

The Gander Mtn Guide rifle have a Remington Mtn rifle contour which is pretty skinny. But I think someone mentioned even dropping a SPS into a Ti stock makes for a nice faux:)

I guess this qualifies as a faux Ti?? Its a KS .280 with a Ti bolt flute, so technically its a faux Ti right?

Started life as a Gander Mtn SS Guide, .308. Tripped the Ti stock for an Edge, added Talley's and a Leupold 2.5-8 , liberally applied the Krylon, and called it good. I've owned Ti's, this is better.
