Faux SAUM Ti, 223AI. Were I to take a mulligan, this would be the profile I'd do in a 1:8 260 in a McSwirly Classic..

Had....

In my infinite wisdom and boredom, I decided to do a full Faux in 6x45 redo to thwart a minimum .23 caliber "rule". This BC stock was the biggest POS on the planet, and the last of the new crop of their schit I'll touch. It finally came around, but I damn near burned out the barrel getting there.

We share similar B&C experiences. My new Ti stock is on my .243, I will never buy another new B&C.

6x45 looks snazzy

It used to be an easy way to take a $400 off the rack ADL special and make it decent.

An ADL dumped into a used Mickey is about the easiest way to make a really good hunting rifle, IMO. But I've always done it the cheap way and used B&C, too. Gotten lucky so far using the First Gen stocks.

All their newer stuff is schit. The one I put on my M70 looked like it had termites and the pillars were off by a mile. Nothing like walking a drill bit through a new stock. Had one for a Tikka that got repackaged 15 minutes after I opened it. Sent it back and the Tikka went down the road to my BIL.

Haven't messed with HS, but why friggin bother. My biggest regret is letting my classic go. Pure fuqqin genius....

Nice stable of rifles 16'.

I also have an itch for a 1-8" 260.

On the above rifle what is the barrel length and contour?

As I put this 260 together in my mind I'm rasslin' with whether to go edge or standard Classic for the stock.

Its a 22" magnum contour. Same as a LVSF without the flutes. If I were doing a MR contour a naked Edge MR pattern would be sweet. With this particular contour it'd be McSwirly, hands down and probably finish at 7.5lbs, with a 6x42M1 up top.

But that's just my preference, plus I like the swirly finish.

That SAUM Ti take off was nice. But again, older take off, way ahead of the new. My talley was 2 older Ti's that were great, 3 newer ones that sucked. I'd throw my brothers newer one in the junk pile too, but never saw it first hand. It didnt last long either.

Brux #2 243AI in SAUM Ti, in cobbled up mounts so I could start shooting it a week ago, 7 lb 9 3/4 oz.

Ran a patch through the new barrel, took four shots to boresight and adjust Burris bushings at 100. Target is first three shot group at 200 with 105 Amax over RL22.

Have all the parts for a twin in 260, the ugly stepchild is a 223 Brux #3.
