Always great to get a good result after fine tuning a load. Spending time developing loads can either really improve a day, or ruin it

Prepping brass always seems to improve consistency hugely, neck tension is something I really focus on lately and seems to be paying off.

3 shots at 100m with 200gr SSTs at 3000 fps from my 338 Win Mag.

Can you expand on this? Were you trying different bushings, or neck turning, or ? Thanks.

Turning necks, annealing and polishing the mandrel diameter down on my lee collet die, as it did not size enough for 'good' neck tension. It is difficult to say exactly how much neck tension I get, but I really pay attention to the amount of pressure needed to seat each bullet and put aside those that feels too light or too heavy.

Excellent shooting and you are right about prep work. It sure does pay off in the long run, as well as keeping your ammo concentric/minimal run-out...Was that group shot with your Ruger m77? It looks like the .425" group I shot with mine while running the 250gr. sierra gk..

BSA, the rifle is a Kimber 8400. With it's 'new' barrel it is an honest .5" rifle. I really enjoy shooting the WM. I have seen posts of your 77 338WM and it does look like a great gun that shoots quite well

You have an excellent shooting Kimber buddy. You better hang on to that one!!! Do you have any pics of the rifle. How's she scoped? I actually sold my longtime elk hunting partner (Ruger m77 MKII 338 win mag) about 6 months ago. It was a shooter for sure and I really liked the rifle. However, after buying my pre 64 338 Alaskan I figured that was all the 338 I needed. The Ruger 77 was a better shooter thus far....

Pieter, They sure do group well...great job on the loads. How do you like the 338 SSTs on game and what game do you use them on?

I have a Bushnell 6500 4.5-30x50 on the rifle. The scope tracks perfectly. At 24+ magnification the image does become 'milky' but not unclear.

Setch, This group was my first group shot after fine tuning the load, and had to fly out to Namibia a day after load development. I have some hunts coming up later in November and will report back on the bullet performance.
