Got my first deer of the year today. Pennsylvania lets us old guys hunt with a centerfire rifle the last 3 days of the early muzzleloader ie doe hunts. 300E with an EG stock 1x4 Leupold aka Loggah. 40 grains H4895 with a 150grain Win. PP. 125 yard head on quartering shot coming downhill, moving. Tried between front legs, was a little slow, hit behind shoulder, through liver, out opposite side, broke hind leg above knee. Went, fell, rolled 20 yards. Dry doe, don't know if yotes got the fawns or what. Mike

The Oct. 23-25 hunt in Pennsylvania also allows Pa residents currently serving active duty in the military, disabled hunters with "hunt from vehicle" permits and Juniors 17 & under to participate in this hunt.

Antlerless only.
Still a nice hunt though.
My daughter killed one last night with her Savage model 11 223.
Damn cell phone would take pics though or would have posted them...

99guy, was it her first? Good for her. And good to hear that you have a young hunter in the family.

LBK, backstraps and eggs sound good but I really love the "eliminator" with a capitol E!
Loggah, you are the one responsible for the stocks. When I saw the pic of yours I had to have one. It looks bigger in my hand than yours does in your hand though.
