Anyone out there run across a chopped up trapdoor with a good bore lately? I know its a long shot but id like to get a hold of one for a custom sporter build. Hate seeing a good surplus rifle cut up but I see no harm in making something pretty out of what bubba did.

That's pretty much exactly like I want. I was hoping to run across a cut down original to fix up real nice as a project though. That is very pretty rifle however.

I probably have the one you're looking for but am wrestling with the idea of letting it go. Bought it as a project for when I retired 5 years ago. Needless to say I really haven't done anything with it. I'll dig it out and give you the details.

I would look on the American Single Shot Rifle Association web site for some ideas about sporterizing a Trapdoor. Seems to me that there was a thread in the last six to nine months about such a project.

The most important aspect of this signature line is that you don't realize it doesn't say anything significant until you are done reading it & then it is too late to stop reading it....
