Seen the weather was going to cool off so I decided to head up to fort peck to see if I could fill my cow tag. Got camp set up and decided to head to a point I like to glass from before it got dark. I was slowly working my way down a timbered draw when I walked up on two cows. I slowly slid the gun off my shoulder and got on the one cow that was quartering away. I touched one off and she piled up right at 51 yards. The slope was pretty steep and she started sliding and ended up stopping on a tree. Well as I was putting a rope on her so she couldn't slide any farther I slipped and so did she and she ended up sliding the rest of the way down the draw which happened to have a spring at the top of it so it was a bog in the bottom. The 160 grain accubond went in at her last rib and came out her brisket. Couldn't get a good picture of her as I was by myself and it was getting dark quick.

Rolled her up pretty good! Congrats. I would have left out the part about her sliding and just told everyone how effective the Mashburn really is....it's so good, it just rolls em up nice and tight for you.

Hopefully the slide at the end didn't add too much more elevation or distance to your hike out. Congrats on the elk.
