anyone ever use one of this brand of scope or the fixed powers? I like you can get a 4A etched reticle in it off the shelf, but know nothing about them.

Leupold 4x33 wide duplex weights almost 5oz less and costs almost $200 less. I suspect resale value would be better as well. Not many will line up to buy Romanian-made rifle scope. They do make nice shoes though.

I have a 4-14 tactical model. Glass is slightly better than vx3. Turrets are very nice and firm. Heavy SOB. The 4x has a steel tube so the weight is more than it needs to be. Always wanted to check one of thes 4x out.

I have had and used a 4x IOR for about 16 years. It is on my primary carrying rifle and Has never given me an Issue. For years I had it on a .458 win. and it never moved even after about 300 full power loads. Mine has a 7a reticle. I do not know about newer models ,but the adjustments are a little tough to get used to but are very precise and rugged. The steel tube adds some weight also. The Glass is usually awesome in them......

I have had one w/the 7A reticle on my M77RS 35 Whelen since the summer of 2002.
It has given great service, very good optics, positive adjustments, has stayed zeroed and it's certainly not a lightweight.
I have no idea what they sell for now, but if I could find a used one and the price was right I'd buy another.

Great solid scope in my previous experience, I just don't care for fixed power scopes. The glass was fantastic.

To add to this ,I got mine before they were regularly available and paid 250.00 bucks for it and the same for binoculars ior made. both a little heavy, both excellent glass and both abused by me and never an issue. Except the rubber eye pieces on the binos dried out and is falling apart and the rubber eye guard on the back of the scope is coming apart.

I've got one on a CZ 9.3x62 and as has been said, the optics are top shelf and they are a bit heavy but the CZ isn't exactly svelte, so they are a good match. They were $225 when I bought mine about 10 years ago so it was a no brainer. I personally like old school European quality steel scopes. So many of the optics on today's market are just garbage, so I appreciate scopes like the IORs.

I like the 7A ,it has enough space between the heavy posts for close range and its fine enough in the center for what a 4x scope is used for..... One thing I forgot to mention the main tube is kinda short so mounting on a long action gun and getting the right eye relief can sometimes be tricky.

If you can live with the short mounting space and the weight, you will not be disappointed. I was an IOR dealer for over ten years, and I love their products. As for 4A or 7A, it's fun to argue their merits, but your target will never know the difference.

I really like the 7a reticle in the IOR 4X, thick enough for quick short range or low light work and the thinner crosshairs in the center for more precise sight picture at longer ranges.
