I hunted Calhoun County, MI, near Albion. Hunted a 25 acre patch of woods off of F Drive South. Shot a button buck opening day. A week later, took a 6 point.

That was the year of the big rains and flood in the mtns right before the opener. Sounds like you had a good season though. If you're looking for my advice, you should shoot two bucks again this year. A wise man is frequently humbled.

Rain, wind, cold. When it really turns to crap, I know where to go. Low crawl with my 44 into the cedars on the hillside, and find them bedded down in shelter. It's the lock pick of hunting.
