I'm thinking of getting a UTV for our family of 4 and would like for everyone to be able to ride and have their own seat. My BIL has bench seat Ranger with an aftermarket jump seat in the back. While functional, I'm not sure I like that setup. The machine would be used for hunting on our property, some light trail riding, and county road touring (it's legal in places).

So which make/model of 4 passenger UTV do you recommend? One that has my interest is the Honda Pioneer 4. Anyone with any experience with one? One thing I like about it is that it can seat 4 and is the same size as a 2 seater. What about the others?

The Pioneer is a nice machine and if I hadn't bought a Rhino already I would have bought one of the 700 Pioneers.

I'd also consider the Yamaha Viking, it has the same powerplant as my Rhino and is a stout machine. It is a wider machine as well so if you have trail restrictions that might be something to consider. I don't think you can go wrong with either choice.

That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.

If I'm not mistaken the Viking is 3 abreast seating, not a 4 seater. Also feels like a paint shaker at idle, but smooths out at higher rpms.

No, you're not mistaken, it is a 3 seater and they also offer it in a 6 seater. eek

The Pioneer 700 4 seater is a very nice UTV.. my brother is a manager at the local Honda dealership and they are hard to get at the moment.. they have deposits on the next few that come in. A 4 seater no bigger than a 2 seater and you have the ability to use it as a 2 seater when not needing the other 2 seats. The Vikings are nice.. but the engine is not as smooth as the Honda and they 6 seater is HUGE!!!

Thanks for the info guys! As long as the tax man doesn't surprise us like he did last year, we're thinking a Pioneer-4 may find a home with us.
