I agree. His versions of 'Nutshell' by Alice in Chains, 'Sober' by Tool and 'Comfortably Numb' by Pink Floyd are some of my favorites. I also like Johnny's version of 'Hurt' better than the original. He makes that a powerful song. One of the few songs that is actually better with a video.
