Nice Buck , what county ? augusta county ,1/2 mile from the shenandoah national park. i think this one is my 45th buck killed in the same area. i've hunted it sense i was 13. its a 3mile long wooded hill that has nothing but farm land around it. they always eat good.this year with a heavy acorn crop its hard to get them to move during the day. i've seen 6 bucks so far this year from that stand. this was the first shooter. shot him at 5;45 pm at 38yds. waited 25min and got on his trail . i followed him 200yds or more and finally figured i was getting him up so i backed out til thursday morning. it was 38deg so he was fine. found him piled up about 80yds from where i stopped following him. he's my biggest crossbow buck and heaviest body weight buck,so yeah. he's going on the wall. i'm not hearing of anything much being killed in this area so far. i guess they are feeding at night with all the acorns we have. last year there was no mass crop. they have killed 2 small bear near me one 150lbs and one 135lbs. with muzzleloader starting saturday state wide some big will fall soon.

What is that rig, on your 4 wheeler, that you hauled him out on? Is that something you made or something you bought?
Either way, I like it. Got any pics of it?

made it myself . its just a fold down rack. when not in use it folds up against the bumper. i mounted 2 of those trailer mount retractable boat ratchet straps on the rack. they hold the animal and also hold the rack up when not in use.i wouldn't try to haul a big animal setting that far back with a normal sized atv. a 6ft atv just is not heavy enough and would stand straight up. mine is a 8ft long polaris x2 built for 2. i hauled me and my hunting buddy plus the deer out. thats close 700lbs we had on it. it was getting alittle light in the front. i have a front rack also that works really well, but my hunt club is mostly huge steep mountain and i usually have to haul anything i kill down those steep trails . a rear rack works way better when going down hill. i could haul them in the dump bed but if i'm alone i can't get them loaded . the bed just sets to high.

I was thinking of building something similar on standard four wheeler. Dead weight is dead weight, especially when your trying to load it by yourself. I'm thinking of pouring concrete into 3' pieces of PVC and strapping it to the front rack as a counter weight.
