Back in the spring I cast a bunch of these. Today was size & lube day. Ive loaded several of these for my H&R 30-30 using 7 grains of Promo. Hope to try these in a few days.

Back in the day I shot a bushel basket of those through a couple .32-20's and .30 rifles with pinches of Bullseye/Red Dot/Unique. More fun than watching Digital Dan back a boat away from the dock! grin

Creeker, I never used any Promo so can't say much about it. I have used a fair bit of SR4759 with the Lyman 311041 in a Savage 24/.30-30. It works well. More recently I began working with the same bullet and Bullseye, about 3-1/2 grains gave a bit over 800 fps and 3 gave 725. They shot well enough that I'm considering them for feral hog patrol. Still massaging it a bit and may go even lower, but 2" at 50 ought to be doable.

This was some 50 yard plinking with the SR4759 load at somewhere around 1600 fps. I will admit to doing something sort of queer with the gun however. Had a clamp machined as a scope mount and put a Millett SP1 on top.

Even thinking about loading a round ball in the case mouth just for grins. BB gun fun for something, not sure what.

I kinda like the bullets you contrived there. Have a carbine, but look askance at running cast thru an autojamming war veteran. Maybe I need to buy another barrel for my Contender? Could guarantee that bullet in a carbine case and a pinch of fast powder would be a shooter from a single shot.

See what you started here? laugh

I remember trying those 3118's in a .30 Carbine and gave it up as a bad job, and stuck with gas checked 110 grainers.

I've shot those with as little as 3 grains of Red Dot, in a .30-30. They shot great.
