Have no idea of todays value,paid $850 10 yrs ago,only one i found in 15 yrs.was to be a 404J until i found a 416RM on the same set up.

Thanks Marty but it is a High Grade not a Super Grade. The checkering is different.

A serial number wouldn't hurt. There are two different tang styles of M70 stocks plus low comb and later high comb stocks. If you're really looking for authenticity there are several different checkering patterns and LPI on the checkering.

I agree Reelman, I didn't want to add any confusion to what I need. But it might help, anything at this point.
The rifle was built around 1954 it is a regular Super Grade Stock with the Forearm Screw. It has a beat up Monte Carlo Stock and is a Type 111 Tapered Tang. Ser# is in the 2995xx Range.
But please don't let that info stop you from letting me know about a Super Grade Stock that you know of. At this point I will take any Super Grade Stock in good condition thats fits a Pre 64 Model 70.
