looking at some G-10 grips for a pistol with a lanyard stud. Either need to remove stud, or modify corner of left hand panel. Wondering if anyone here has cut, drilled, sanded, or shaped G-10?

I have drilled cut and sanded it. It is hard but not unmanageable. I cut it with a heavy duty cutoff wheel on a dremal tool. I used metal bits for drilling it. A little hard to use wood bits but no need for carbide or anything like that. For sanding I used 80 grit cuts like butter and no need to go finer to smooth it out. I made some knife handles with it. Shaped it with 80 grit on a spindle sander and went straight to a buffing wheel to bring the color back. Color goes very dull after sanding but comes right back with a bit of buffing. The dust is very bad stuff if doing any power sanding and creating dust a mask is a must.

Depending on what you use to cut it, the glass fibers can leave a somewhat frayed edge. If that's the case, put a drop of super glue on the cut, then use fine sandpaper to get rid of the frayed ends of the glass fibers.

I was thinking about using a dremel tool, to make a small radius. something like this, (on an old pair of grips):

Should work fine. You can get the coarse sand paper wheels for the dremel. I had no troubles sanding with a power sander and 80 grit. The dremel sand paper I have used is around 80 grit.
