I've tried decoys a couple times through the years with generally favorable results. The issue I've had is they were bulky and loud to set up. I'm looking for something that collapses for portability and is easy and quiet to set back up. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I'm a big fan of the Montana elk decoys- deadly.

I haven't had the same luck with the montana deer docoys...probably due to a different circumstance...calling elk vs. sitting in a stand. I've had small bucks come in and look at them...all of the does spook [thats a problem right there] ....none of the big bucks that saw it from a distance gave it any attention.

I did shoot a nice buck off of a bedded flambeau deke setup along the edge of a field 20 years ago....but have since gave up on decoys for whitetails...I prefer scent trails

With what scents?

I thought about the Montana decoys, but have seen a ton of bad reviews.

My experience with the decoys in Virginia have not been positive when seen by deer. Most tend to hesitate, then spook. What I don't know is if I am using a "wrong" combination of sight and scent, or the presentation is wrong.

However, a fellow club member in Virginia has literally hours of Mid-west bucks attacking the same decoys with a purpose. Some of his video footage been used by Montana Decoys in their media.

I tend to think the problem is operator error, over the fault of the decoy. I really like the new turkey decoys that MD has released in the last couple years.
