This young Cow should be real good eats. This is my first kill with a ML and only the second time I've got this tag. I'm shooting a Rem 700 .50. I shot a .385gr Hornady Plains Bullet over 110gr of FF and a CCI cap. Peep sight at around 100yds.

Very very cool. Shows us old farts are not over the hill yet.

Is the pic upside down? It looks OK to me. Strange though, it was upside down when I sent it to the computer from my phone, but it opened right side up and is correct in photo bucket.

Your computer is upside down. This answers a lot of questions about you....

Did she stop that bullet or did you get a pass thru.?

My uncle has a Rem 700 .54 that likes those discontinued 390gr. GP bullets

Bullet did not exit. She piled up about 20' from point of impact. I won't go into detail about shot placement for fear of starting a pissing match. It was the only shot I had and I took it. Thanks for all the kind words.

I was going to say she did not stop it unless it was a length wise shot.

Having seen how the old 460gr Buffalo Bullets from a 54 penetrated on elk, lengthwise will get no bad comments from me.

That would be correct. She turned to high tail it and I put a stop to it.

Congrats.

I hunted MZ elk and ate tag soup. Any elk is a good elk in my book.
