Montana, What kind of ducks do you have there.. We had been getting diving ducks here before the freeze up.. Saw one like the bottom one.. Never got a chance to look it up.. Nice shooting..

Any chance to go duck hunting is an okay day - nice.

Not MTCH, but pictured are a common scoter, oldsquaw/long tailed duck and surf scoter, AKA skunk head.

Thanks.. That surf scoter sure looked unusual on the local lake.. There was only one.. Again maybe unusual(?) I would have loved to bag it for the local taxidermist ...

Scoters are common on salt water particularly if there is a shellfish operation around.

Kevlar skin and can be tough to kill on the wing but about the dumbest bird alive. 3 local old timers kill the shcitt out of them using a pair of long lines with about 3 dozen 2 liter soda bottles painted 75% black and 25% white at the neck and they do it out of a shiny silver aluminum boat.

Fun birds to hunt and lots of opportunities at shots if your in a good spot. They aren't overly shy at all.

Correct but I refuse to call Oldsquaw anything but Oldsquaw.
