A little history. My wife had Hodgkins Disease when she was in her early 20's. Nine months of chemo and high doses of steroids killed the bone in her hips. So, at 23 she had both hips replaced. She got about 25 years of service out of them. About 4 or 5 years ago she had revisions done on both hips. They replaced the balls and bushings/liners. We thought she was good to go. Now, the rod that goes in the left femur is lose and she is going to have that whole hip replaced again. This will be her 5th major hip surgery. She took all of the other operations in stride, but this one has her more apprehensive. She gets the surgery done tomorrow. Please keep her in your prayers, thanks, Joe.

Good luck, Joe. I'll be thinking of y'all tomorrow. Medical science re: hip replacements is pretty amazing. Where is it being done? Annapolis?

Thanks every one. My daughter and I just got home, we left about 5:30 this morning. My wife was scheduled for 9:00 AM and they rolled her into OR right at 9. Don't know exactly how long it took them to get started, but the doctor called us into the conference room at 2 PM. Every thing went as planned. Turns out they just opened a new wing at the hospital and she was the first one in a new room. It's bigger than hotel rooms I've stayed in. She was pretty much pain free and wide awake, and hungry. The nurse gave her a menu and she ordered up dinner, looked and smelled good. She has her first PT at 9 tomorrow morning and then 2:30 in the afternoon. Should be released Sat morning.
