I'm a 'summer p/dog buster' 20 cal's have become a favorite 20 Vartarg..20-222...20 Practical... Although by summers end..when the dog's coat gets heavier.. will reach deep in the safe for the 223AI..6BR..or 6XC.. If that don't work...always have a heavy 6.5x55...... 20-222 shown in pic........

Weren't you the Grand Poobah of something or other? I thought jealousy was for mortals...... It aint jealousy...its frustration.....this .222 mag stuff is starting to sound like endless prattle from an old dude who is billed as 'legendary'. Theres another one on this site that goes on and on about the 7x57. Sheesh... Where do you people find these old farts?

It's catsup, not ketchup -mathman Thanks for the clarification on condiments and spelling. Truth be known the only reason I tuned into this thread is because the spelling Nazi in me wanted to see what an "opion" was.... And, BTW the .223Awesome Ingwe is that answer to the OPs question...

.17 Remington. Great for ground squirrels. Great for prairie dogs. No finer fur cartridge.

And I thought 'catsup' was a contraction of the words cat and soup. Judging by recent trapping posts, Shrapnel could fill you in on cat soup too...

Please tell me you have "Awesome Ingwe" stamped on at least one barrel. PS: I am still considering the Turdlike McSwirley, with a bevy of browns....still debating on the 1% yellow for corn representation....and yes, it would be a 223AI.

If I were building a dedicated varmint rifle, it would be a 22-250. But since I already have a 222 that works well, I will stick with that.

.243 Win. Beacause I own two and both are very accurate way out dare with 58 Vmaxs over Varget.
.223 Rem. Because I have a very acurate AR Rifle-length/heavy that is super accurate with Varmageddons and Varget plus a hoot to shoot. Got a Hakeye 9 twist I'm working on now. Bullets and brass laying everywhere at my place!
.22-250 would be my choice if I didn't already have all these 243s and 223s.

This will differ if you are a farmer with 1000 prarie dogs in your pasture, a fur collector of bobcat and fox or a rancher in Wyoming raising sheep....Add your circumstance or activities to justify your post !! (fun, boredom, yet fun !) Ridiculous thread.

If I had to pick one for everything, it would be .223. That said, my 22 K-Hornet is my favorite and is most all I use anymore for the big buck sabre toothed charging ground squirrels we have around here
